Annie Bunting, professor of Law & Society in the Department of Social Science, has co-written an article with Heather Tasker, Professor of Political Science at Dalhousie University, discussing how fighting in the eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) has increased sexual and gender-based violence against both civilians and humanitarian workers in the area. The authors look at the reasons for the sharp increase in these crimes and at actions that must be taken to reduce harm and support victims.
